Dave Nicklas, Vice President for Business Affairs

Dave NicklasDavid Nicklas joined the University of Louisiana at Monroe as vice president for business affairs in July 2005.

During his professional career, Nicklas has served as vice president for finance and administration for the University of Louisiana System Board of Supervisors, as vice president for business affairs at Delgado Community College, and in other financial management positions in both the public and private sectors.

Nicklas received a bachelor’s degree from Louisiana State University and his master’s of business administration coursework from the University of Southwestern Louisiana.

The vice president for business affairs serves as chief fiscal and administrative officer, as chief administrator over nine departments and as a representative on the President’s Cabinet; directs and oversees the overall operations to ensure compliance with university, state and federal laws and with policies and regulations; oversees the professional staff; provides strategic planning, direction, management, and operation of shared information services; develops policies, procedures and objectives for the university’s purchasing program; establishes and implements short and long range departmental goals, objectives, policies, and operating procedures; reviews major contracts and proposals; oversees campus beautification and facilities maintenance; supervises budget preparation and fiscal management; and serves as liaison with the Board of Regents, the University of Louisiana Board of Supervisors, the Division of Administration, and the State Legislature on all matters relating to finance and capital outlay.
