Dear Colleagues,

Our ULM community mourns the death of Jeffrey Michael Gibson, 58, who died Saturday, March 22. Memorial services for Jeff will be at 1 p.m. On Wednesday, March 26 at St. Alban's Episcopal Church, located at 2816 Deborah Drive. A celebration of Jeff's life will follow in McClain Fellowship Hall.

In honor of Jeff's life and his service to the university, ULM flags will be flown at half-mast tomorrow. Jeff began working at the institution Jan. 10,1982,and retired Jan. 12, 2007 as a tenured associate professor in mass communication. An expert in radio, television and film, Jeff also served as the general manager of KEDM, northeast Louisiana's public radio station.

Jeff was respected by his colleagues and admired by his students. He will be missed. Our thoughts are with Jeff's wife, Dr. Beverly Flowers-Gibson, Assistant Dean of Undergraduate Studies at ULM.
