The President's Academy 2012 is a five-day residential college preparatory program held on the ULM campus and in partnership with CenturyLink, Angus Chemical Company and E.A. Conway Medical Center.
The President's Academy provides externships in the fields of Computer Sciences, Physical Sciences and Medical Sciences. Coupled with follow-up laboratory experiences with university faculty and college courses that equip scholars with the soft skills to flourish in a competitive job market, the President’s Academy 2012 offers high-ability high-school students exclusive entre into the global economy.
On Day 3, Medical Science students were at ULM's Compounding Lab, while other student groups learned learned Latin with ULM faculty member Brian Butler and received a literacy lesson from ULM associate professor Beth Ricks. The day concluded with students performing a percussion ensemble show at ULM's School of Visual and Performing Arts and a style showing how to dress for success.
