Our Mission
The mission of the Psychology department is to provide strong and diverse representation of the field of psychology to serve the needs of all elements of the university. The department offers an undergraduate major which provides a strong liberal arts education and includes solid preparation for graduate study in psychology and related fields. The graduate study program in psychology fully prepares students for professional careers at the master’s level, enabling the graduate to begin work as productive employees and to remain adaptable and productive throughout a long career. The quality of training provided in this program must supply a strong foundation for doctoral study in psychology and related fields.
