Athletic Director Announced Bobby Staub, the former
senior associate athletic director at the “The chemistry is right
with Bobby,” said President James Cofer. “We are very pleased to have
a person of his caliber join our staff. We wanted to be sure he had plenty
of time to make the right decision for him, his family, and Staub had been at UAB since 1984-85, beginning as assistant athletic ticket manager. Leading up to his current position, he also served as ticket manager, director of marketing, assistant athletic director and associate athletic director. His recent responsibilities have included managing select fundraising, marketing and promotional activities; creating and implementing corporate sponsorship strategies; coordinating operations and management of multiple sports teams; assisting football and basketball game scheduling; acting as institutional bowl representative; serving as department liaison to multimedia rights holder; supervising the office of athletic media relations; overseeing licensing and website programs; and directing day-to-day internal affairs of the athletics department. He is in his first year
as a member of the NCAA Division I Baseball Committee, and is also a
member of the National Association of Collegiate Marketing Administrators,
the National Association of Collegiate Directors of Athletics and the UAB
Faculty Athletic Committee. He has been the tournament manager for the
Conference USA Men’s Basketball Championships and is the Department
liaison for the Collegiate Licensing Company. Staub graduated from
