IAF Kicks Off 2004 Campaign

The ULM Indian Athletic Foundation (IAF) kicked off its annual fund campaign on June 29 at the Alumni Center .

The Indian Athletic Foundation, formerly the Athletic Scholarship Foundation, is ULM ’s athletic pillar. Founded in 1956 and incorporated in 1972, the IAF is comprised of volunteers who raise funds for scholarships; help finance travel, supplies and equipment; and builds, upgrades and maintains athletic facilities. The IAF operates within the guidelines of the NCAA in all matters dealing with the ULM Department of Athletics.

At this year's kick-off party, the IAF honored eight individuals who have participated in the annual campaign for many years. The honorees are past presidents, Hall of Famers, Team Captains, ULM Coaches, and major contributors. Those honored were Cactus Jack Collins, Mariana Burroughs, Bob DeMoss, Mayor Joe Kalil, Joe Erwin, Curtis Nichols, Johnny Huntsman and Coach Bob Groseclose.

Call Brian Moreau, executive director of IAF, at (318) 342-5428 for more information on how to contribute and join “the team behind the team.” It is the shared vision of alumni and friends of IAF that is making excellence a reality at ULM !
