ULM Officials Receive Flags From War
Jerry Hurst, an officer with the University Police Department at ULM was sent to Afghanistan in December of 2003 along with three other UPD officers. Shortly afterwards, Hurst received a package from his colleagues at the UPD. It contained the usual things: shampoo, deodorant, sunscreen, baby wipes, and cookies. Smart Classrooms Available On Campus
This summer, twenty-two classrooms were made over into “smart classrooms.” “Smart classrooms” are lecture rooms and lecture halls equipped with computers, DVD and VCR players, a sound system, Internet connections, and document cameras. Bayou Farewell: The Rich Life and Tragic Death of Louisiana 's Cajun Coast by Mike Tidwell, is making an impact in northeast Louisiana . The book chronicles the condition of the disappearing Louisiana coastline. The author hopes to make public, in his own words, “The greatest untold story about the biggest calamity in the nation right now.” KEDM, 90.3 F.M., the public radio station housed on campus, is offering some help in getting that story told. Faculty Member and Students Provide Instruction and Humanitarian Aid in Ukraine
Dr. Charles Pryor, Head of Educational Leadership and Counseling, and two ULM students, Steve Traxler, a construction major and Stuart Traxler, a criminal justice major, joined a team of ten volunteers who traveled to eastern Ukraine from June 17 to June 27 to provide instruction and humanitarian aid in a children’s camp there.
