OCTOBER 2004

The United Way Campaign
By Paul Karlowitz
ULM has a long history of supporting the United Way and this year has the promise of being another great campaign. The United Way is a wonderful way to give to the local community. The funds collected are returned to the local area by various support programs and other methods of assisting people such as addressing health issues, crisis response, and helping to improve the futures of our children. ULM works hand in hand with the community.

ULM ’s 2004 United Way Campaign began October 1st. The ULM goal for this year is giving the ULM employees a 100% opportunity to contribute. Contributions are always voluntary, but ensuring that every employee is given the opportunity to contribute is not voluntary, its our duty as campaign managers. We also have a goal of increasing the level of participation over last year's level.

The community needs the support of ULM and ULM needs the support of the community, so please consider making a contribution to the United Way . No matter how small of a contribution, it will be put to good use.

The ULM United Way Cabinet is Chaired by Paul Karlowitz and is made up of the following members: Dr. Richard Hood, Dr. Eric Pani, Ms Claudia Evans; Ms Coby Wells, Dr. Melissa Melancon, Ms. Annette Tangye, Dr. Walter Creekmore, Mr.Trevor Melder, Mr.Don Smith, Mr. Marshall Wright, and Officer Montez Pate.
