topics
  • Poverty Point. The archaeological site at Poverty Point State Historic Site is a magnificent earthen complex with five mounds, six concentric semi-elliptical ridges and a plaza that was built and occupied by Native Americans about 3500 years ago. I am happy to present current information about this unique landscape and the associated artifact collections of Poverty Point.
  • Prehistory of Louisiana. Archaeological research throughout Louisiana has revealed a long and interesting history of Native American occupation prior to the arrival of European explorers. I can provide an overview of the Native American culture history of northeast LA, from the earliest inhabitants to the latest prehistoric populations.
  • Archaeology. Our understanding of prehistoric culture history is based on archaeological research. I can provide a brief introduction to the method and theory of archaeological research -- what, how and why archaeologists do what they do.
