Don't Give a Hoot: Urban Planning
- The Social Science Research Laboratory at the University of Louisiana at Monroe will help analyze data from a survey Peter J. Smith Urban Planning Consultants constructed (with input from psychology research methods students) to assess the current state of affairs in Monroe.
- In addition, the SSRL plans to assess whether local inhabitants favor a Research and Development corridor that includes Louisiana Tech and Grambling. Such a corridor would not only elevate levels of education but also increase business activity and prosperity of northern Louisiana.
- Furthermore, as part of the R&D corridor issue, a “Racial Harmony Project” would endeavor to establish in downtown Monroe a cross-cultural hub centered around music and the arts.
