Monroe City Legal Department Project
The Social Science Research Lab in conjunction with the Monroe City Legal Department is putting their efforts together to explore possible expansions to be made to the Monroe City Criminal Code.
The primary reason for these potential expansions is to allow Monroe police officers the opportunity to charge offenders with violations that correctly match their offense. This cohesion of offense and charge will lessen the strain on the system within the Monroe’s Legal Department.
The SSRL and Monroe’s Legal Department are looking into possibly implementing certain codes from the State of Louisiana Criminal Code that could better fill out our city’s list of violations.
The Monroe Legal Department Project will be an ongoing project that will strive to better Monroe’s Criminal Code and provide more precise charges to aid Monroe police officers and the city’s Legal Department.
