Learning Communities
ULM offers you one of the most innovative student success programs yet - Learning
Communities, or LCs.
An integral part of the First Year Experience, the LC program is back in full swing
for Fall 2012. All incoming freshmen are part of a ULM Learning Community based on
their college and/or major.
LC's provide freshmen with several advantages:
- The LC will make ULM even more learner friendly. Instead of having four or five classes
with different people in each class, you will have friends from your LC in several
of your classes.
- We have selected great courses and instructors for inclusion in our LCs. All courses
in these LCs satisfy ULM's graduation requirements, so these course combinations will
work well for most students.
- You will be pre-registered in the courses which are part of your LC. When you come
to PREP, our first-year orientation program this summer, you and your advisor will
only need to choose two or three more courses.
All these advantages work together to make you more successful and to give you a great
experience your first year here at ULM .
