involved, leader
Drew Register is a sophomore biology major from West Monroe. He is pursuing a minor in Spanish.
I have only one older sister, Ashley. She is such an inspiration to me, and she means so much to me.
Most people probably don't know that I love rap music and even like rapping with one of my best friends, StaggNation.
I am very passionate about my university, and thus I am very involved on campus. I am an active member in Kappa Sigma Fraternity; I served as the Pledge Class President of Fall 2008, and I currently serve as the Assistant Secretary. I'm the Vice President for the Intrafraternity Council and Treasurer for the Campus Activities Board. I'm also a member of Hawkseekers, Maroon Platoon, and Alpha Lambda Delta. Recently, I had the prestigious honor of serving on one of my favorite organizations at ULM, PREP Staff. The memories I've made during the summer will stick with me for the rest of my life. When I'm not working on campus, I work at the Monroe Athletic Club.
I plan to graduate with a degree in biology and attend dental school in New Orleans. I plan to become a dentist and open my own practice in Monroe. However, I wouldn't mind moving to follow my dream.
My favorite spot on campus is the fountain in the middle of the Quad. I love watching step shows, performances, and other special events there. The Quad brings the whole campus together, and it even inspires school spirit every Friday.
Dr. Bhattachargee has truly impacted my educational career here at ULM. He has taught me so much, not only as a professor, but as an authentic, nice person. It is impossible for his desire for student success to go unnoticed. It is inspiring to see someone teach with such passion. He genuinely wants his students to succeed, not only in the classroom, but in life.
My favorite memory at ULM thus far would have to be Oozeball. It's a spring tradition like none other, and it's exclusive to our campus.
I chose ULM because of the outstanding science program and class sizes. The classes are small enough so that you can seek out individual help, but they aren't too small. I also really love the greek life on campus and residential life. Living on campus has helped me make so many friends that I probably would have otherwise never met.
Since attending ULM, I have truly matured and become a leader. I owe all of my growth to my student organizations; they have helped me become outgoing, confident, and proud.
