loves higher ed, sharing with others
Seth Hall is a senior marketing major from West Monroe.
I am the youngest of six children. I have four older brothers and one older sister. Don't feel sorry for the sister. She is the oldest of the bunch.
One thing that most people don't know about me is that I have had a crush on a ULM cheerleader for about one year, and I'm not spilling the beans now! Just to be fair, this cheerleader already knows about my crush.
I chose to attend ULM for several different reasons. ULM gave me an opportunity to run, ULM is close to home, ULM offers the education I need, ULM is such a friendly campus, and most importantly, ULM is on the up and up! This place looks better than ever! I also have an older brother who paved the way for me.
I run cross country and track for ULM. I have worked with PREP, the freshmen orientation program, for three summers. I am set to work my third year as a peer leader for University 101. I am involved with the Wesley Foundation on campus, but I also eat the $1 lunches at the BCM and the Catholic Center. I also work in the Office of Recruitment and Admissions as a student worker during the school year.
I plan to graduate with my undergraduate degree in marketing and to get an MBA. After I accomplish those goals, I would love to work at a university. ULM is the obvious first choice. I love being around higher education. Being surrounded by people who want to better themselves is always encouraging. I enjoy the opportunities to make relationships and to share my faith. When I am at a job where I can share my love, then I have arrived!
My favorite spot on campus is ... THE TRACK! Surprise, surprise for the people who know me. I meet at the track 10-12 times a week to get practice started. The track is where I go to clear my head and to put my body through excruciating pain!
One of my favorite professors is Mrs. Noelle Prestridge. I have never actually taken Mrs. Noelle for a class, but I have served as her peer leader for University 101 (formerly known as FRYS). Mrs. Noelle has a heart of gold and is so easy to approach. Those are two key qualities to being a fantastic professor.
My favorite memory at ULM thus far is watching my great friend and teammate Moses Kiptoo Chelimo finish second place at the Sun Belt Track and Field Championships in the 3000 meter steeple chase. I felt like I was actually running the race as I watched Moses. When you run 60-70 miles a week with someone, you grow a close bond with that person. Moses made the whole ULM distance squad proud that day!
Attending ULM has been the most life changing experience of my life. I have completely broken out of my shell. I have learned to communicate on a mature level, and I have been reminded of the discipline my mother instilled in me the first 18 years of my life.
