musician, wants to be part of change
Walter Jackson is a senior history major from Monroe
I am the youngest in my family; I have two older sisters.
Currently I am involved with the Haven Band, Baptist Campus Ministries Leadership Team, NMF, Amnesty International, and the Social Science Research Laboratory. I spend my mornings working for a local law firm here in Monroe--a place where I balance my time between gaining administrative experience, working with lawyers from in and around the state, and finding the perfect balance of creamer and sugar. I enjoy it.
Directly after graduation, I plan on cutting a record and traveling. Following that, I want to help people help themselves. I want to go where the world is being changed for the better; I want to find that place and never leave. I want to be a part of that change, whether it be by serving in the International Missions Board, taking up public service and litigation, counseling people at local churches stateside, or helping to build houses in Africa.
As far as outstanding professors, Dr. Sutherlin stands out from the crowd. He is proactive, relevant, knowledgeable, concise, genuine, and willing to invest time in his students. He is an outstanding educator.
ULM has supplied me not only with the opportunity to further my education, but also the chance to network with peers and mentors I wouldn't have had the pleasure to meet and work with otherwise.
