Community celebrates opening of Starbucks
Over 250 people, including students, faculty, staff, community members and ACE the Warhawk, helped celebrate the grand opening of Starbucks today at ULM. Starbucks is just one of the many examples of ULM's progress, said ULM President James Cofer.
Monroe Mayor James E. Mayo, who has been very engaged with the ULM community, talked about the economic impact ULM continues to have on the city of Monroe.
"Everywhere you look, you see progress and that's good not only for ULM, but it's good for this entire city. We know the economic impact that the university has on our city. All of the improvements that have been made out here are just awesome," said Mayo, an alum who received a business administration degree in 1979.
Mayo, Cofer, SGA President Rob Carroll, Faculty Senate President Dorothy Schween, Mike Trevathan of ULM Auxilary Enterprises, Rep. Kay Kellogg Katz, Eddie Rushing of Aramark, Robert Hoag of Aramark, students and faculty, participated in the ribbon-cutting. The community also sampled Starbucks goodies and toured the facility.
Starbucks, located on Northeast Drive, is open Monday through Saturday, 6 a.m. to midnight and on Sunday, 8 a.m to 8 p.m. The phone number at Starbucks is 342-7827.
