The University of Louisiana at Monroe

ULM Web Calendar Policy

What is the ULM Web Calendar?
The ULM web calendar is the online place where many on and off campus go to find out what is going on at ULM. Additionally, the calendar also provides details for those who wish to attend a specific event. It is organized by month and can hold several listings per day. Faculty, staff and students of ULM are able to submit information for posting on the calendar.

The ULM web calendar is also where University Relations gets information for the Fant-Ewing Board.

What should be posted?
ULM events to be posted include:

  • all athletic/sporting events
  • special events open to the public
  • important ULM calendar dates
  • recruiting event dates.

Each event must include the event name, date, place, time, cost, brief description, and contact information for further information. If there is a web page link, please include this.

What should NOT be posted?
Generally, information about specific meetings for specific groups should not be posted. For example, specific class meetings and weekly organization meetings should not be posted because this is not information that can be used by the general public. If it is listed on the calendar, a member of the general public should be able to attend on the date you want the information posted to. Do not post vague information, instead, stay specific in your post and use only pertinent information about the event.

Who can post?
There is (or should be) at least one person in every area/department assigned to post information to the calendar. Please get information about your event to your department’s contact person to be sure all departments at ULM are represented on the calendar.

When should messages be posted?
Messages should be posted earlier rather than later—but not so early that plans will change before the date of the event. Two weeks ahead of time is a good rule of thumb.

Where can I get help when trying to use or post to the ULM web calendar?
If you are not sure who the contact person is in your area/department, or if you would like to be the person posting information from your department to the web calendar, please e-mail Chance Eppinette at eppinette@ulm.edu. He can help you determine a current department contact or set up your access.

The Office of University Relations is the primary poster to the ULM web calendar, responsible for the ensuring it is accurate and up-to-date. If you want help with the ULM web calendar, please do not hesitate to contact Patricia Tolar at (318) 342-5440 or tolar@ulm.edu.

What about third-party Web calendars?
The ULM Web calendar is the official university events Web calendar. All ULM Web pages should reference the ULM Web calendar. Use of third-party web-based calendars is not allowed as the primary posting vehicle for ULM events
.
