To Helen:
What's a bark? ("Nicean barks")
What do you think a "perfumed sea" would smell of?
Okay, so there he is metaphorically on a perfumed sea. Where does he want to be? Where do you think that is exactly?
Is there a picture of the hyacinth plant in your dictionary? What would "hyacinth hair" look like?
There's that word "home" again.
Suddenly in stanza three, we are jerked out of the water and in a new place, maybe the place the poet's voice is *actually* at. Can you describe that
place?
"agate lamp" -- My dictionary tells me that agate is a stone. There
is a related word--agata, a kind of 19th century colored glass. |
