Work in outpatient therapy program as part of the 500-hour client contact internship requirements.

Provide therapy services for families, couples, and individuals on a variety of presenting complaints. Also responsible for intake, case and record management, and consultation and collaboration with clinical faculty, supervisory staff, and team menbers.

Provide therapy services for students, parents, and teachers dealing with peer, home, and school-related issues.

 

Marriage and Family Therapy Intern
Association for Retarded Citizens - Ouachita (ARC-O), Monroe, LA (1997-present)

As part of the 500 clock hour program requirements.

Provide therapy services for the mentally challenged members of ARC-O, both in a group home setting and in an independent living setting, dealing with issues such as relational problems with houseparents and other authority figures as well as relational problems with friends and housemates, problems with anger control, marital discord, and other related issues. Also lead a group for ARC-O members dealing with similar issues.

 

Responsible for reading articles pertaining to ongoing research, assisting in research and data collection and organization, literature review, and assisting in correspondence and office duties for Dr. Harper Gaushell.
