I am pleased to inform you that based on the recommendation of the Affiliate Services Committee, at its July 2007 meeting the NCTM Board of Directors granted affiliation to the Northeast Louisiana Association of Teachers of Mathematics (NELATM). Effective immediately, your Associate Affiliate is eligible for all services available to NCTM Associate Affiliates. In order to maintain affiliation with NCTM, NELATM is to abide by the guidelines and other information included in the Affiliate Services Program 2007-2008. The program/guidelines book is updated annually and is mailed to Affiliates in January. It is available online at http://www.nctm.org/about/content.aspx?id=1100. For the most recent issues of AffiliateNews, an e-newsletter regularly sent to all Affiliate offices with e-mail addresses in our Affiliate records, go to http://www.nctm.org/about/content.aspx?id=1104&ekmensel=c580fa7b_8_180_1104_1.

New Affiliates are presented charters during the Delegate Assembly held in conjunction with NCTM’s annual meeting and exposition. The 2008 Delegate Assembly is scheduled for Thursday, April 10, 2008 in Salt Lake City, Utah. You will be sent further details as they become available. We hope your Affiliate will be represented in Salt Lake City. If no one from your Affiliate is able to attend the chartering ceremony, your charter will be presented to your region’s Affiliate Services Committee representative, Cynthia Schneider.
