Federal Work-Study (04) is a federally subsidized work program, which provides on-campus employment opportunities to eligible undergraduate and graduate students with financial need. To be considered for this program, students must complete the FAFSA. Some campus departments may hire students through the Campus Work Program (03). This program works the same as the Federal Work Study Program except the FAFSA application is not necessary.

A Desk Assistant (commonly shortened to "DA") is a trained student paraprofessional within the Office of Residential Life. The Front Desk Assistants are responsible for performing a variety of front desk and clerical functions and providing quality customer service to our residents, their families and guests, and other members of the ULM community. The DA is a primary source in the central office for information regarding Residence Life and ULM.



-Provide assistance to the our residents, their families and guests, and other members of the ULM community, the Residential Life professional staff, maintenance crew, and cleaning crew.-Possess a high degree of confidentiality related with working in this position.-Greet, assist and refer all incoming students, faculty, staff and visitors to the right direction.-Perform general clerical duties including mailing, faxing, typing, and filing.

Must be an undergraduate or graduate student registered part-time or full-time.- Must possess experience in clerical duties, participating as a team member, and have knowledge of campus resources.- Must be in good standing with the University.- At time of hire and throughout employment, candidate must maintain a Cumulative and Semester Grade Point Averages (GPAs) of at least 2.5 each semester.
