The University of Louisiana at Monroe Older Worker Program - Senior Community Service Employment Project (ULM-SCSEP) provides free training and employment services to eligible, limited income persons 55 or older.

ULM administers the SCSEP grant operations. The statistical and financial reports are submitted to ULM through proper departments for approval and processing. ULM grants and contracts controller division submits monthly financial reports to NCOA for reimbursements.

Sponsored by the National Council on Aging (NCOA) and U. S. Department of Labor, ULM-SCSEP is a federal, grant program that provides temporary work experience initiatives by assigning participant trainees to public or non-profit worksites for a set number of hours weekly on subsidized, minimum wage.

ULM-SCSEP is authorized to serve senior residents in eleven northeast Louisiana parishes: Caldwell, Catahoula, Concordia, East Carroll, Franklin, Madison, Morehouse, Ouachita, Richland, Tensas and West Carroll.

The program specializes in recruiting, assessing, training and referring senior participants for job opportunities.

These factors produce satisfactory performance goals each year.
