CAC Meeting Minutes

Present: Dr. Denny Ryman, Dr. Judy Fellows, Mr. Brett Bennett, Dr. Johanna Boult,

Dr. Jessica Dolecheck, Dr. Emily Doughty, Dr. Florencetta Gibson, Ms. Patti Calk, Ms. Beverly Jarrell, Ms. Debbie Wisenor.

1. Update by Dean Ryman: Dean Ryman reported on his recent meetings in Baton Rouge.

2. Homecoming: Homecoming will take place October 30. Patti Calk reported that the tent will be set up at 10:15 a.m. Cooking of hamburgers on a grill will begin at 11:00. Other food provided by the different departments will be available. Radiologic Technology will transport the tent back to the Dean’s office.

3. Major’s Fair: The Major’s Fair will be held November 3 in the Student Union Building from 1:00-3:00. An e-mail was sent earlier in the month requesting Department Heads to reserve tables. All freshmen in the 1001 classes are expected to attend. Questions were asked about the Scavenger Hunt last year and whether it will be held this year. Dr. Fellows will contact the coordinator to discuss.

4. Browse on the Bayou: Browse on the Bayou will be held November 6. The welcome is scheduled for 9:00; breakout sessions with the Deans at 9:45; and, academic browse from 10:30 until 11: 45 a.m.

5. Health Science Day – October 12: Discussion was held about the event.
