No Practitioner Left Behind: Addressing Teacher Quality through Alternative Certification

 University teaching faculty, clinical faculty, district administrators, and practitioner teachers should attend this conference. To submit a proposal for a paper or poster presentation, complete the LAAC proposal form.
Submission Deadline:  Submit proposals by September 30, 2006

Proposals that deal with the theme of the conference, No Practitioner Left Behind: Addressing Teacher Quality through Alternative Certificationare encouraged. Suggested topics include: 

  • alternative certification teacher preparation
  • teaching in high needs schools
  • administering alternative certification teachers
  • classroom management
  • emerging themes and trends in alternative certification
  • research in alternative certification

The Conference
The LAAC conference will be held in the Conference Center on the 7th floor of the Library at ULM. The main campus address is 700 University Avenue, Monroe, LA. The Library conference Center may be accessed via University Ave. or Desaird St. 

The Hotel

Several hotels in the area offer state rates. The Atrium (2001 Louisville Ave., Monroe, LA 71201 (318) 410-4000) and the Holidome (I-20 & 1051 US 165 BYPASS MONROE, LA 71203, (318) 387-5100) are two suggestions for staying in Monroe.
