President's Academy 2021: June 14-17

A college preparatory program designed specifically for high-ability high school students to discover the science behind a pandemic

The President’s Academy is a four-day, non-residential college preparatory program held on the ULM campus designed to look at the science and law of pandemics. The academy simulates the outbreak of a pandemic and divides participants into teams of specialists that attempt to identify the problem, to develop a drug to solve the problem, to create technology to mitigate the problem and assist with problem containment, and to try a case that examines the legal rights of individuals.

Participants will have the option to work in laboratories, virtual reality classrooms, and courtrooms with university faculty, medical professionals, computer experts, and lawyers. This camp prepares students for a collegiate major, offers a glimpse into career options, and equips them with the skills to flourish in a competitive and global world.

An Academy like no other...

The President’s Academy allows participants to select a collegiate and professional major in one of four areas:
