Why View/Present Web Pages Off-Line?

- no internet connection is necessary for displaying web pages

 

- quicker access, no additional download time

 

- portability, documents can be taken with you for convenient viewing

 

- a more controlled environment*

 

- no chance the server is down

 

- no chance your connection is down

 

*Note: When downloaded pages are accessed, absolute URLs that were not downloaded may still be accessible if the lab is on-line.

 

Downloading Information Manually

- single files, ex: movies, documents, sounds, etc.

- can be accessed via your browser*

*rule of thumb: If you viewed it with your browser in a web page, you should be able to view it independently as well.
