ULM's popular Dance Fusion Nov. 30

The University of Louisiana at Monroe’s 13th Annual Dance Fusion Concert is at 7:30 p.m., Friday, Nov. 30, in Brown Auditorium.

The concert is a featured event produced by the ULM Dance Department, which is a component of ULM’s School of Visual and Performing Arts.

The concert is free to ULM, faculty, and staff with a ULM ID. Community tickets are available for $5 at the door, and children get in free.

The concert will feature the choreographic works of ULM Dance faculty Robin Stephens, associate professor, Tina Mullone, assistant professor, and Gretchen Jones, instructor, alongside the 23 members of the ULM Repertory Dance Ensemble.

According to Robin Stephens, “This fall's concert will not disappoint with the variety of music, dancing styles, and subject matter expressed in the dance works. Interesting scenarios, beautiful images and feelings are brought to life through both modern dance pieces ‘The Cocktail Party’ and the ‘Continuum,’ both crafted by Tina Mullone.”

All of ULM’s dance faculty have collaborated in preparing dances to salute some of the iconic musicals of the American Broadway stage.

Musical excerpts from Chicago, Guys and Dolls, and West Side Story will be featured.

For this fall's concert costume design is provided Marcy Hall, and lighting, set, and sound design by Steven Burnside, technical director for ULM VAPA.
