ULM Panhellenic Council to host Christmas dinner and stocking stuffer

The University of Louisiana at Monroe Panhellenic Council is hosting a Christmas Progressive Dinner and Stocking Stuffing (the stockings benefit the Salvation Army). The event takes place on Tuesday, Dec. 4, 2001, at 6:00 p.m. in ULM's Cosper Hall.

The Christmas Progressive Dinner is a (non-alcoholic) social event for the sororities. Each chapter will host one course of a complete meal to one another. The Panhellenic Council has invited several ULM administrators to the dinner, including President Lawson L. Swearingen, Jr.

The dinner is also a time where the sororities will incorporate their philanthropic project: stuffing stockings for the Salvation Army. The sororities will supply the toys and stockings and then deliver them to the Salvation Army where they will be distributed.

The Panhellenic Council and Interfraternity Council are also having their annual "Christmas Court Social" on Thursday, November 29, 2001 at 7:30 p.m. in the Alumni Center. This is a non-alcoholic party which enables the new member/pledge classes of each fraternity and sorority to socialize. A Christmas Court (much like a Homecoming Court) will be elected.

The Panhellenic Council is composed of the four Panhellenic sororities on campus: Lambda Tau Chapter of Alpha Omicron Pi; Delta Zeta Chapter of Kappa Delta; Alpha Rho Chapter of Phi Mu; and the Theta Gamma Chapter of Sigma Kappa. There are approximately 183 members at ULM.
