The Second Annual Student ResearchSymposium To Be Held At ULM

The Second Annual Student Research Symposium at the University of Louisiana at Monroe will be held on the 7th Floor of the University Library on Monday, April 22, 2002. The event will begin at 12:30 p.m. with awards being presented at 4:00 p.m. The Symposium is the featured initial event of the Faculty Honors Week festivities, which begin on Monday, April 22nd and last through Friday, April 25th.

The event is sponsored by the Office of Graduate Studies and Research, Graduate Council, Research Council, and the Office of Academic Affairs. There will be over 150 ULM graduate and undergraduate students participating in poster and platform presentations. The students will present their research and research evaluations through these mediums. Platform presentations are scheduled to take place from 12:30 p.m. to 3:45 p.m. in the smaller conference rooms on the West Side of the Conference Center on the 7th Floor.

Dean of Graduate Studies and Research, Dr. Walter Creekmore, says, "The University of Louisiana at Monroe is proud to provide a platform for scholarly research and learning through the sponsorship of the Second Annual Student Research Symposium. These students have chosen to take the high road as they are contributing to the body of knowledge and not just talking from it. This effort sets the stage for their scholarly pursuits, which will have real-life applications. They are to be applauded and respected for their effort and dedication to the academy."
