ULM to host Incumbent Worker Program

The University of Louisiana at Monroe is hosting a reception for the Business and Industry Partners of the Incumbent Worker Training Program (IWTP) on Monday, Nov.18, 2002, at 2:00 p.m. It will be held at Luv N Care located at 3030 Aurora, Monroe.

ULM has been instrumental in securing a number of Incumbent Worker Training grants for our region. Dr. James Cofer, President of ULM, will speak about ULM's commitment to the program and meet with grant recipients. Dr. Jan Bowman, Director of Continuing Education, will give an update of the grants awarded. Joseph Hakim of Luv N Care will talk about what Incumbent Worker Training has meant to his company while Ron Phillips, of the Monroe Chamber of Commerce, will update the group on Incumbent Worker funds still available. Attendees will also be given a tour of Luv N Care.

Funded IWTP Projects currently being managed by ULM and their amounts are: Faulk & Foster, $195,903; Riverwood Corporation, $1,281,084; Summerlin Lane Nursing Home, $209,532; Allied Building Stores, $304,326; Guide Corporation, $986,072; Luv N Care, Consortium, $983,086; Abell Corporation, $267,188; The Forsythe Group, Consortium, $319, 302; Chase Manhattan Mortgage Corporation, $731,641.
