ULM School Of Construction Students Receive Scholarships

Nine students in the School of Construction at the University of Louisiana at Monroe were honored recently at the Louisiana Associated General Contractors-Monroe District quarterly meeting held recently. ULM President James Cofer was the featured speaker at the event.

Each year the LAGC awards approximately $6,000 in scholarships to ULM construction students. This year's recipients were Brian J. Welch of West Monroe, the A.C. Breckenridge Memorial Scholarship; Marc Rockett of West Monroe, the Bill Gilbert Memorial Scholarship; Leslie Dyess of Junction City, Ark., the John E. Baugh Memorial Scholarship; Al Hayward of Monroe, the Don A. Baxter Scholarship; Zeb Mixon of Ruston, the Hollis Graham Memorial Scholarship; Charles Mardis of Natchez, Miss., the J. Hilton Heard Memorial Scholarship; Chris Highsmith of Bastrop, the Fred C. Culpepper Memorial Scholarship; Josh Tarver of Monroe, the Ranny Terral Memorial Scholarship; and Nick Nicholson of Jonesville, the ACG/Thurman Potts Scholarship.

LAGC is a statewide, full-service construction trade association representing more than 700 general contractors, subcontractors, suppliers and service firms throughout Louisiana.

The School of Construction at ULM also awarded scholarships to Jack Skaggs of Bossier City, the David Wayne Geissler Memorial Scholarship; Andrew Brown of Monroe, the Lamar Rogers Honorary Scholarship; Brandon Strong of Monroe, the Hurvie Moak Scholarship; and James Reneau of Monroe, the Bill Eason Memorial Scholarship.
