Professor Selected as Fellow for Association for Gerontology in Higher Education

The University of Louisiana at Monroe faculty member Jan Bowman, Ph.D., of the Department of Gerontology has been selected to be a Fellow of the Association for Gerontology in Higher Education (AGHE).

Fellow status is an honor conferred by AGHE which recognizes outstanding leadership in gerontology/geriatrics education by established scholars/educators. Fellowship status is open to individuals with well-established careers of achievement in gerontology/geriatrics education who are employed by an AGHE member institution. Qualification include outstanding achievement in teaching, scholarship and research on educational issues, influential research publications or theoretical contributions used in gerontology/geriatric education and training, or leadership in administration and funding of gerontology/geriatrics educational programs, including development of new programs.

The 2003-2003 Fellows in Gerontology and Geriatrics Education will be recognized at the 29th Annual Meeting of AGHE in St. Petersburg, Fl., this March. Certificates will be presented at the close of the AGHE Annual Business Meeting, March 7, 2003 at 5:15 p.m.
