Tony Nominee to Appear at ULM

Tony Award nominee Andrea McArdle, creator of the title character in the beloved musical Annie and star of Cabaret, Beauty and the Beast, Les Miserables, and Starlight Express, will appear in the upcoming TheatreWorksULM production of Lysistrata. McArdle will appear with local performers (playing the comedy's title role), visit classes, and participate in an "Inside The Actors Studio" session open to the general public.

Lysistrata deals with women's attempts to end war. Written by Aristophanes to chronicle the war between Athens and Sparta some 2500 years ago, the TheatreWorksULM production sets the action in Civil War America. Performances are scheduled for April 29, 30, May 1, 6, 7, 8 at 7:30 nightly in the premiere curtain-raising of the reopened Brown Theatre on the campus of the University of Louisiana at Monroe.
