Power Lifters Prepare for Nationals

The ULM power lifting team is on a quest for nationals this month. The team is holding a lift-a-thon at Neville High School this Saturday, Feb. 14 from 8:30 a.m. ­ 12 noon. They are trying to raise money to attend their national event in Lincoln, Neb. in April.

On February 21, three of the members will travel to Baton Rouge for a nationals qualifying event.

Team members and their hometowns are Darren Smith (Boys Captain), Rayville; Fred Kalil, Monroe; Bradley Gulotta, Independence; John Barron, Colfax; Cody Bauman, Maumelle, Ark.; Joseph Purvis, Sterlington; Jonathan Nicholson, Oak Grove; Jerry Ross, Monroe; Jordan Van, West Monroe; Paula Ramirez (President), Brazoria, Texas; Kelly Roulaine (Secretary) Monroe; Rebekah Cobb, West Monroe; Danielle Miller, Monroe; Patricia Calhoun, West Monroe; and Jacqueline Cain, Monroe. Former ULM Lifter, Jeremy Many is the coach.
