ULM Financial Aid Office to Visit Area High Schools for Financial Aid Awareness Month

For many high school students planning to attend a university this fall, now is the time to start gathering financial information to begin the financial aid process.

February is Financial Aid Awareness Month. Roslynn Pogue, Assistant Director of Financial Aid Services and Scholarships at The University of Louisiana at Monroe says, "the application process for financial aid can be confusing at times." She also says, "Many students who file for financial aid often make simple mistakes on their applications which cause delays in their award to be processed."

In an effort to help prospective students and their parents better understand this process, the ULM Financial Aid Office will visit over 20 area high schools in northern Louisiana during January and February. They will present facts to high school seniors about the financial aid application process and offering good advice on when and how they should apply.

Some upcoming presentations will be held at the Football Recruiting Program, Jan. 29, 12 noon, at ULM Malone Stadium; Buckeye High School, Feb 3, 7:20 a.m.; Franklin Parish High School, Feb 3, 6 p.m.
