Art students receive Kappa Pi scholarship honors

Two ULM students received 2006-07 honors in the Kappa Pi International Art Fraternity annual scholarship competition.

Stephanie Jordan, a senior sculpture major, placed second for her work in sculpture and drawing. Jordan entered "Through His Pain I Saw Beauty," an abstract plaster bust, and a graphite drawing titled "Beauty and Pain." Jordan won the award as a junior.

Stephanie Michele Smith, third place award winner last year, received an honorable mention for her sculpture titled "Diabolique," a cast bronze figurative work. Smith is currently a senior graphic design major.

The competition among undergraduate members of active Kappa Pi chapters required that each student send representations of five works of art.
