Bry Art Gallery displays first in series of graduating senior shows

The Bry Art Gallery at the University of Louisiana at Monroe is currently showing a One-Person Exhibition by Michele Kuhn, the graduating art senior voted by the faculty as being Outstanding Artist of 2007. Kuhn's exhibition is the first in a series of graduating senior shows to be held at Bry during the summer months.
 
On display are portrait, landscape and figurative acrylic paintings on
canvas, some of which espouse polyptych formats. Another series of acrylic paintings manifest portrait images rendered on antique suitcases. Also being displayed are illustrations employing figurative images in watercolor and mixed media, landscape and figurative silverprint and color photographs, nonobjective found object sculpture, and a graphite self-portrait with an accompanying artist's statement.
 
The artist will be honored with a reception in the Bry Art Gallery, beginning at 6:30 p.m. Thursday, May 17.
 
Kuhn's exhibition will be on view through Thursday, May 31. The gallery is open from 8 a.m. – 4:30 p.m. on weekdays.
