ULM Wind Ensemble concert Nov. 28

The ULM Wind Ensemble will present a concert on Wednesday, Nov. 28, at 7:30 pm in Brown Auditorium. The concert is free and open to the public.

The Wind Ensemble’s fall performance is designed as a "pops" concert. Selections include Leonard Bernstein's "Overture to Candide" and John Krance's "Broadway Curtain Call" that includes memorable themes from the Golden Age of Broadway. Additional selections for this program include "The Red Machine,” "Incantation and Dance,” "Fantasy On A Japanese Folk Song,” and "Nothing That Is," composed by Monroe native Julie Giroux. The Wind Ensemble, conducted by Derle R. Long, will conclude the program with an offering of holiday tunes contained in Leroy Anderson's "A Christmas Festival.”

Guest conductors for the program include legendary West Monroe music educator Dr. Michael Spears and newly-appointed ULM Assistant Director of Bands and Orchestra Conductor Dr. Jason Rinehart.
