ULM’s Second Annual Warhawk Triathlon set for March 15

The Association of Students in Kinesiology at ULM, ULM’s Activity Center, and Vantage Multisport will sponsor the Second Annual Warhawk Triathlon Saturday, March 15, beginning at 8:30 a.m. at the Lake Oxford Natatorium.

ASK has joined forces with Vantage Health Plan, The Bike Source, Coca-Cola, Brookshire’s, Bayou Pawn Shop, Haik-Humble Eye Institute, and Monroe Surgical Hospital to provide a race for both first-timers looking to complete their first triathlon and experienced triathletes looking to test their fitness level.

The Warhawk Triathlon is a competitive event that will include a 400-meter indoor pool swim, an 11-mile bike ride, and a three-mile run. The finish line will be at the Grove. After the triathlon there will be food and gumbo for all participants.

Preregistration fees are $40 per person and $25 for ULM students; fees are increased for registering on the day of the event. Last year’s participants came from all parts of Louisiana, as well as Kansas, Mississippi, Arkansas, Texas, and Oklahoma. ASK encourages Monroe residents to sign up for a great cause and have a healthy, fun-filled experience.

This year the race will be restricted to 150 participants, so preregistration is encouraged. Go to: www.active.com
