ULM co-hosts Business Outlook Summit 2009

Economic development is on the minds of many in northeast Louisiana, and higher education is again providing answers.

The University of Louisiana at Monroe will play a prominent role in the Community Trust Bank Business Outlook Summit 2009 Friday, March 27, from 8 a.m.-12:30 p.m. at the CenturyTel Headquarters, located at 100 CenturyTel Drive, Monroe.

Local economists Robert Eisenstadt, Ph.D., of ULM and John Francis, Ph.D., of Louisiana Tech will present the regional outlook. James Glassman, Ph.D., the managing director and senior economist with JPMorgan Chase & Company, is the keynote speaker and will provide insight on the national outlook.

They will provide the information they have developed to participants for additional analysis opportunities. This will be the fifth year that several local expert forecasters have teamed up to look at the global, national, regional, and local economy. The main idea is to benefit the regional business community by taking a prepared, informed look at the year ahead.

This program is the result of collaboration between the ULM College of Business Administration, Louisiana Tech College of Business, Department of Economic Development-Northeast Louisiana Region, Monroe Chamber of Commerce, West Monroe/West Ouachita Chamber of Commerce, and Ruston-Lincoln Chamber of Commerce.

There is a $50 registration fee for regular tickets; student tickets are $15. Pre-registration is required, as no tickets will be sold at the door.
