ULM’s Alpha Omicron Pi Sorority attends international convention; wins awards

University of Louisiana at Monroe sorority Alpha Omicron Pi (Lambda Tau chapter) attended their international convention in June in Tampa, Fla. The chapter won several awards during the four-day convention.

These awards included the Ruby Award for achieving 98.6 percent of the sorority’s international standards of excellence, the Sheaf Performance Award for foundation support and the Alumnae Advisory Committee Performance Award.

In addition, two ULM students received Diamond Jubilee Scholarship Awards: Mary Webster, a pre-dental biology major and current chapter president, and Elizabeth Fuselier, a pharmacy major and 2008 ULM Greek Woman of the Year.

The sorority won the ULM NPC Overall Sorority Excellence Award, the Chapter Programming Award and Alumnae Relations Award in May at the annual Student Affairs Awards.

Alpha Omicron Pi consists of 220 chapters and colonies across North America. The sorority was chartered at ULM in 1958.
