ULM hosts "Traveling Scholars" series during academic year; next speaker presentation Nov. 9

The University of Louisiana at Monroe will host Dr. Aysel Morin as part of its "Traveling Scholars" series, sponsored by the Speech and Debate Forum of the Department of Communication at ULM.

Morin's presentation "Feminists, Orientalists and Fundamentalists: A Triangle of Feminisms in Muslim Cultures" will be held at 6 p.m., Nov. 9, also in Stubbs Hall, room 100."

Morin, November's second speaker, is an assistant professor in the School of Communication at East Carolina University in Greenville, N.C.

Her research areas include rhetoric, culture, political discourse, intercultural communication, nationalism and social movements.

Her most recent publication appears in Louisiana Communication Journal Volume 12, 2010.

The Traveling Scholars series will continue in February and March 2011.
