ULM Visual and Performing Arts faculty contribute to free summer concert series in July

The University of Louisiana at Monroe Visual and Performing Arts faculty continue to delight audiences with performances scheduled through July in the 37th Annual Summer Concert Series, sponsored by Grace Episcopal Church.

Performances begin at 7:30 p.m. and are free and open to the public.

The church is located at 405 Glenmar Avenue in Monroe.

ULM's Dr. Richard Seiler, professor and keyboard area coordinator, serves as choirmaster/organist and artistic director of the series at the church, and will perform as collaborative pianist for all four concerts.

On Tuesday, July 5, Dr. Seiler will collaborate with flutist Dr. Sandra Lunte in a duo performance featuring the works of Reinecke, Martinu, and Mike Mower.

On July 12, soprano Dr. Claire Vangelisti will deliver a performance featuring the works of Handel, Schumann, Hahn, Verdi, and Ricky Ian Gordon.

On July 19, French hornist Dr. James Boldin will perform works of Beethoven, Chabrier, Lorenz, Marais, Winteregg, and Roger Jones.

The series concludes July 26 with clarinetist Dr. Scot Humes, who will perform works by Finzi, Verdi, Chausson, and Eric Ewazen.
