VAPA to present Low Brass Studio Recital Nov. 7

The Low Brass Studio Recital, scheduled for Monday, Nov. 7 in the Emy-Lou Biedenharn Recital Hall, is one of three annual concerts given by the studio at the university.

These concerts give ULM's trombone, euphonium and tuba students valuable performance experience, placing them in leading and soloistic roles not often held by players of these "background" instruments.

Audiences are often treated to their first taste of the capabilities of these instruments in performing solo works and pieces for small ensembles.

The recital on Nov. 8 will feature performances by student soloists, as well as by the ULM Trombone Ensemble and the ULM Tuba-Euphonium Ensemble.

The entire event is programmed and coached by Dr. Micah Everett, assistant professor of music at ULM. Everett invites everyone to come out and "see what those guys sitting in the back of the orchestra can really do!"

The concert is free and open to the public.
