ULM Chapter of Sigma Delta Pi Initiates Four

ULM's Chapter of Lambda Sigma Chapter of Sigma Delta Pi, the national Spanish honor society, initiated four new members at its May 3 meeting.  The new of members are:  Laura McLeland (graduate student from Monroe), DeRon Talley (Folsom Mass Communications major), Holly Lamb (biology major from Marion), and Delia Valerio (pharmacy major from Metarie).

The ceremony was conducted by Vice President Justin Gwin; he was assisted by Secretary Julie Landry, Melinda Johnson, and Andrea Jackson.

To be a member of Sigma Delta Pi, a student must have completed two Spanish courses at the junior or senior level, and at least one must be a course in literature or in culture and civilization.  The students must have a 3.0 in Spanish and a 3.25 overall gpa.

The Lambda Sigma Chapter was founded in 1976.
