ULM Magazine features win big

The fall 2011 edition of the ULM Magazine, "Discover ULM," was recognized for excellence in feature writing.

ULM graduate student and former ULM staff writer Keli Jacobi won multiple awards for her contributions to the publication.

Jacobi, of El Dorado, Ark., was awarded first place in the category of Public Relations, Promotions and Publicity for a "four color" magazine.

The award was presented by the Louisiana Press Women, and was given to Jacobi for her contributions to the magazine, which included "Man on A Mission," a profile of ULM President Dr. Nick J. Bruno, and "Walk Down Memory Lane," an introspective piece about ULM traditions.

As a first place winner, Jacobi's entry was entered into the National Federation of Press Women Communications Contest.

In the national competition, Jacobi received second place recognition for her efforts.

She will receive her award at the NFPW Annual Communications Conference Sept. 20-22, in Scottsdale, Ariz.

The ULM Magazine is produced by the Office of Public Information.
