ULM online MBA program ranked 27th nationally

The University of Louisiana at Monroe recently ranked number 27 in a list of universities with the 30 best online MBA programs in the nation.

Affordable Colleges Online (ACO) awarded a weighted score of 70.2 to the ULM program, utilizing research from the National Center for Education Statistics, Integrated Postsecondary Education Data System, the Carnegie Classification, and U.S. News and World Report, as well as accreditation information from the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business.

Dr. Ron Berry, dean of the College of Business said, "To be ranked as one of the top 30 online MBA programs, along with some of the country's top flagship state universities, is a testament to the quality of our faculty and their efforts in developing and delivering our online MBA courses."

He also pointed to previous honors, saying, "This additional ranking, along with our best value ranking from GetEducated.com and our national ranking by U.S. News and World Report, provides further evidence of the value and quality of ULM's MBA program."

According to ACO's description, the ULM MBA program "includes courses in financial analysis, marketing strategy, and international business. Its competitive entrance qualifications ensure a challenging education with peers who are seasoned in business."

ACO selected the top 30 schools based on very specific criteria. ACO equally considered faculty quality, student engagement, and admissions selectivity in compiling their ranked list.

All selected universities are public schools, AACSB accredited, and ranked within the top 70 of U.S. News's list of the best online MBA programs.

"At Affordable Colleges Online, we never underestimate the importance of finding the college that's right for you," states the ACO website.

"We strive to provide the most valuable and accurate information possible to make that choice easier, and to do so with absolute transparency. As such, we use only the most selective, current, and respected data from government-backed sources that have earned the public's trust."

Dr. Eric Pani, Vice President for Academic Affairs, said, "I believe that this program is a model that delivers what policy makers, the business community, and the public have said they want to see from universities. The combination of quality and value makes ULM's MBA program stand out among the vast number of MBA programs offered in this country and internationally. Workforce-need statistics for Louisiana and elsewhere in the U.S. clearly indicate that the need for MBA graduates is substantial, and that people with this degree will earn a very good salary."

He also credited faculty members with maintaining the environment that gives cause for the award, saying, "Dean Berry and the ULM Business faculty have developed a method for delivering a quality program with a high return on investment. By offering ULM's MBA program online, they have made that program available to anyone who has access to the Internet."

In October 2012, ULM's online MBA program was also named the "Best Buy" in the United States by the national review team at GetEducated.com
