The University of Louisiana at Monroe, now in its 81st year, has achieved extraordinary progress in 2012.

1. U.S. News & World Report names ULM one of the “best regional universities” in the south

2. ULM’s online MBA ranked the nation’s #1 “best buy;” Geteducated.com awards College of Education four “best buys” for online degrees

3. 2012 freshmen class increases 10% since 2011 with the highest GPAs and ACT scores in ULM history; graduation rate increases 5% during the past two years

4. G.I. Jobs deems ULM a “military friendly school” — an elite distinction given to only 15% of universities

5. U.S. Patent & Trademark Office awards ULM pharmacy fourth patent for anti-cancer research

6. Governor’s Office of Homeland Security & Emergency Preparedness funds an innovative $3 million Doppler radar system at ULM

7. LSU AgCenter, Pennington Biomedical Research Center, and Louisiana DEQ partner with ULM to research natural products, Alzheimer’s, and the environment

8. School of Visual & Performing Arts performs “Chicago” to sold-out audiences at every performance

9. College of Health Sciences students earn a consistent 100% passage rate on national licensure exams

10. ULM develops a post baccalaureate in accounting and a toxicology concentration in food science and safety — both among the nation’s fastest growing fields

11. Joined by Fortune 500 companies, ULM launches the President’s Academy—a new career-oriented summer program for high-ability high school students in the southern U.S.

12. Water Ski team wins 24th National Championship; Baseball team wins Sun Belt Championship; Warhawks invited to play in Independence Bowl with 8-4 record
