LSBDC at ULM and Accion offer credit repair workshop

The Louisiana Small Business Development Center at University of Louisiana Monroe in partnership with Accion, will offer a free "Credit Repair for You and Your Business" workshop, from 1 - 3 p.m., Thursday, Aug. 1, at the Ouachita Parish Public Library located at 1800 Stubbs Avenue in Monroe.

The workshop is intended for individuals who are unsure how to read or interpret their credit reports, who need the definition of credit scores and how to improve them, and who need to know what individuals can do if there are errors in their credit information.

It is especially recommended for those who need to repair their credit, want to understand the use of credit in the loan process or have recently been denied credit.

"Credit plays an important role in being able to secure financing to start or grow a business," said Mary Lynn Wilkerson, LSBDC State Director.

"This workshop will provide tips and resources that will help small businesses get their credit back on the right track."

There is no cost to attend.

To register for the workshop, visit www.lsbdc.org/ulm or call 318-342-1224.

Last year, through its partnership with Louisiana Economic Development and the U.S. Small Business Administration, the LSBDC statewide network served 27,000 small businesses – creating 964 new jobs, 165 new businesses, $54 million in capital, and helping generate $17 million in new state income tax revenue.
