Rules and Regulations

 

  1. Firearms; hunting, trapping and possessing. No firearms, guns, pistols, air rifles, explosives or traps are permitted within Restoration Park. It is unlawful to hunt, kill, track, take possession of or remove any animal, bird, reptile, insect, or amphibian from the Park.
  2. Fishing. All fishing in the Park will follow Louisiana Wildlife and Fisheries Rules and Regulations, require the purchase of a one day fishing permit from the Park and be subject to the Park's fishing limits. The use of nets, yo-yo's or trot lines in Restoration Park is prohibited.
  3. Boating Prohibited. All boats and other aquatic recreational equipment are prohibited in Restoration Park.
  4. Archery Prohibited. Bows and arrows, crossbows and all similar equipment are prohibited in the Park.
  5. Swimming Prohibited. Swimming and wading are prohibited within Restoration Park. No person may enter any body of water in the Park.
  6. Unsupervised Children. All children visiting Restoration Park must be accompanied by and under the supervision of a responsible adult. Any unsupervised child encountered by park personnel shall be escorted to the office where they will wait until a parent or guardian arrives.
  7. Motor Vehicles. Motor vehicles must meet all motor vehicle standards of the state of Louisiana and the City of West Monroe. Speed limits and other traffic control devices are present throughout the Park and will be enforced.
  8. Restriction of Operation of Vehicles. Operation and parking of motor vehicles, motorized bikes and bicycles shall be restricted to designated parking areas and hard road surfaces (excluding walkways and trails). The use of any motorized or unmotorized vehicle of any type is prohibited on walkways or trail areas except when utilized by authorized park personnel.
  9. Operation of Vehicles. No person shall operate any motor vehicle, motorized bike or bicycle in a careless, negligent or reckless manner so as to endanger any person or property. All persons operating a vehicle must abide by all signs and notifications, including those which indicate direction of traffic flow, speed limits, parking areas, and handicapped parking restrictions.
  10. Horseback Riding. Horses, mules, donkeys and similar livestock are not allowed in Restoration Park unless prior authorization has been granted.
  11. Restriction of Fires. Fires shall be confined to fireplaces, grills or other facilities designated for this purpose. Open campfires or bonfires are prohibited.
  12. Sanitation. It is unlawful to dump or deposit refuge in or around the Park. All trash must be deposited in garbage or trash containers provided for that purpose or removed from the premises.
  13. Protection of Vegetation. No wildflower, tree or shrub in Restoration Park shall be picked, cut, broken or otherwise damaged in any way. The destruction, injury, defacement or removal of any object, natural or manmade, from within the Park is strictly prohibited.
  14. Damaging Public Property Prohibited. No person shall destroy or damage any structure or other public property in Restoration Park.
  15. Noise, Improper Conduct Prohibited. Loud noise, music or conduct which is annoying to any person is prohibited. The determination of loud noise, music or improper conduct shall be made by park personnel.
  16. Alcoholic Beverages. Possession or consumption of alcoholic beverages within Restoration Park is strictly prohibited unless written approval has been provided by park management and prior arrangements have been made for security.
  17. Fees. It is unlawful to avoid or attempt to avoid payment of any or all fees charged for entrance into Restoration Park or for Park facilities, activities, or events.
  18. Interference with Park Employees. Restoration Park employees are authorized to enforce the rules and regulations of the Park as well as impose restrictions for the safety and enjoyment of all our visitors. No person may interfere with the employee's actions or attempt to restrict the performance of their duties.
  19. Penalties. All crimes and offenses established by the State of Louisiana and by the City of West Monroe shall apply within Restoration Park. Any person or persons violating any provision of these Rules shall be guilty of a misdemeanor and, upon conviction, shall be punished by a fine not exceeding THREE HUNDRED AND NO/100 ($300.00) DOLLARS, or imprisonment for not more than ninety (90) days, or both. Park personnel shall immediately eject any person from within Restoration Park for the violation of any provision of these Rules. Any person resisting removal, or returning to Restoration Park without express permission to do so, shall be deemed guilty of criminal trespass.
